Over the past couple of weeks, several western teams have made significant trades prior to the March 8 deadline to get ahead of other general managers and scooping up the players they need to bolster their teams.

The Rangers are in a bind as they need a couple of replacement players especially in their third line centre position after losing Filip Chytil and removing Nick Bonino.

With centres at a premium this year and the first-round draft pick being the cost to acquire 1 this has given Rangers management pause up until now.

This seems to have changed as Gianni Maltese of Blue Line Station has stated the Rangers are preparing for a major trade as they have done some roster moves to position themselves for a deal.

Maltese even states that the Rangers have done an undisclosed offer with another organization this according to the Bleacher Report.

«The Rangers have formally made a trade offer, according to a behind-the-scenes expert from our reliable source at Bleacher Report,» Maltese said.

Many rumors across the web have pegged the Rangers as a front runner to land Anaheim Ducks centre Adam Henrique along with former Rangers forward Frank Vatrano.

With the Rangers in a win now mode, I expect Chris Drury to be busy fielding calls while trying to craft the best deal for the Rangers as they feel ready for a long playoff and cup run.
