Here's what he said happened when he found out he was being called up to the big leagues:
Brett Berard said he was putting on his suit to go to the Hartford game yesterday when he got the call from #NYR asst GM Ryan Martin. He immediately called his dad, mom and brother.
«The three most important people in my life. They've been with me my whole journey.»
Later on he released a statement regarding his excitement about making his NHL debut with the Rangers:
#NYR Brett Berard ahead of his NHL debut:
"I think the biggest thing for me is to just stay confident. I think [my confidence] is high. I think down in Hartford, I was trying to get up here, so just trying to bring what I've learned down there so far this year up here and just play my game. It's the same game I've been playing since I was three years old. Just a bigger stage in New York City. It's the best place to play. I'm super excited and just try to play my best.»
Truly some a great attitude to have ahead of his debut, hopefully tonight will be a dream come true for the youngster and he can prove to everyone why he was the right man to be called upon.
