The New York Rangers face a scary situation as star forward exits the game due to injury.

Tonight, the New York Rangers are facing off against the Calgary Flames, and seem to be struggling as the first period comes to an end with the flames leading 1-0.

Along with that, the Calgary Flames out currently out shooting the Rangers 20-5 as the fort comes to end.

#NYR were outshot 20-5 that period

However throughout the first period, Rangers forward Mika Zibanejad appears to have suffered an injury after blocking shot from Flames defenseman Rasmus Andersson.

Mika blocks a shot and goes str8 to the locker room.

After review it seems like Zibanejad took the shot straight to the chest, and immediately left the ice and headed to the locker room as it probably knocked the wind out of him.

Looks like Mika blocked the shot right to the chest. #NYR

Definitely a scary situation as Mika Zibanejad is a valuable aspect to the team, despite his slow start to the season.

This season Zibanejad has managed to put up 14 points throughout 17 game, 4 goals and 10 assists, so having him out on the ice is still beneficial.

Thankfully there's some good news to this, as the second period started Mollie Walker of the New York Post revealed that Zibanejad had returned:

Mika Zibanejad is out there to start the second for #NYR

Now, hopefully the New York Rangers can bounce back in the second period and start to improve their game before it's too late.
