It's not wrong to say that the New York Rangers have been a team that's struggled lately.

Before their last string of wins, they went 4-4-0 in their last 8-game stretch and saw weaknesses exposed in the defense and offensive sides of the puck.

One of those games, saw the terrible, Buffalo Sabres post 6 points on Igor Shesterkin. A verifiable disaster on November 7th, they lost 6-1.

Since then, the team has done its best to clean up its act, and Adam Fox spoke to the media and was asked if the team needed to "turn it around".

Keep in mind, this is a team that is currently 12-4-1 right now, with a .735 winning percentage.

So, he ran his hand through his hair and with a sarcastic chuckle replied, «I don't know that we need to turn it around necessarily » with a heavy emphasis on the word «turn.»

Who can blame him? They hit a rough patch early in the season, and have since overcome the obstacles despite it all.

The clapback could be considered polite, as he expressed no major frustration with who asked him the question. But he did question the legitimacy of the statement which is fair.

«We were definitely playing not our best hockey, sneaking away with wins, whether it be goaltending or being able to score a few,» he continued in a more polite, Fox-like manner. «There are definitely still things we want to clean up, like we've talked about odd-man rushes but it's definitely a good start to the road trip for sure.»

The Rangers did end up pulling off a victory in Vancouver at Rogers Arena, with a score of 4-3.

A certain turning point after they suffered another loss to the run-and-gun, Winnipeg Jets who are currently one of the NHL's best teams under Head Coach Scott Arniel.

The Rangers had a 61.65 xgf percentage against the Canucks, per Natural Stat Trick. They out-scored (4-3), out-shot (27-17) and out-chanced (20-16) the Canucks on Tuesday.

Is Adam Fox wrong in his assertion that the New York Rangers didn't need to change their game?

The team has seen multiple lineup changes prior to the question, and maybe just maybe it would've been a more suitable question for Peter Laviolette.

It seems to me, that the Rangers have gone through a tiny slump and are ready to continue their run to the postseason.
