The New York Rangers organization announced early on Saturday morning that have completed a trade with the Tampa Bay Lightning of the Atlantic Division.
The New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning have essentially just swapped forwards, as the Rangers now have acquired Lucas Edmonds in exchange for Ryder Korczak.
Edmonds was originally selected in the third round, 86th overall, of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft by the Lightning.
The 23-year old forwards has scored five points (1 G, 4 A) in 26 games with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch this season, and has skated in 120 career AHL games with the Crunch, scoring 48 points (25 G, 23 A).
Along with posting a career high in goals (15), assists (12), and points (27) as a rookie with the Crunch back in the 2022-23 season.
However, forward Ryder Korczak was originally drafted by the New York Rangers in the third round, 75th overall, of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
Korczak who is also 23-years old, has managed to tally eleven points (3 G, 8 A) in just 35 games this season with the Hartford Wolf Pack, and has appeared in 107 games as a member of the Wolf Pack over three seasons, recording 31 points (12 G, 19 A).
According to the Hartford Wolf Pack website Edmonds has already been assigned to the Wolf Pack.
