Troubling news emerges for the New York Rangers as key forward unexpectedly exits the game with four minutes remaining in the second period.

Chytil is not on the bench for third period, last shift ended with 4:00 remaining in second.

Key Forward Filip Chytil left the New York Rangers game against the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night with an unidentifiedupper-body injury and was unfortunately ruled out for the remainder of the game.

UPDATE: Filip Chytil (upper body) will not return tonight.

Definitely a bit of a mystery of how Chytil sustained this injury as he was present throughout the first 36 minutes of the game and never seemed to be involved in any heavy hits.

A very unfortunate situation for the Rangers and the 25-year old forward as he has dealt with plenty of injuries, including several concussions during his career. As just last season he was limited to just ten game due to injuries.

However, Chytil has been on fire for the Rangers as he manages to tally 10 goals, seven assists and 17 points in 32 games while averaging 14:12 minutes.

Following the game head coach Peter Laviolette issues a vague update on Filip Chytil's situation.

Here's what was said:

Laviolette wouldn't give up anything on Chytil's status, other than, "it's upper body, being evaluated.''

Do you think Filip Chytil has sustained an injury that will sideline him long-term? Let us know in the poll down below and stay tuned to NY Rangers Insider for the latest news and updates on the New York Rangers.
