We are going to see a different line-up tonight for the Rangers, as they take on the Minnesota Wild. In combination to player injuries, and recalls, it was expected.

With defenseman Adam Fox placed on long term injury reserved, and Center Filip Chytil on injury reserve, this has freed up two roster spots and $9.5 million in relief cap space.

However, don't get your hopes up for a big free agent signing with that money. The relief cap space disappears the moment Adam Fox returns to the team.

We will explain more on that later today.

All the recalls came from the Rangers affiliate team, the Hartford Wolf Pack. The first recall announced was forward Jonny Brodzinski.

He's expected to be the fill in for Chytil. It's doubtful Brodzinski will play on the second line for the team, but we will see how Peter Laviolette adjust the line-ups at practice and at warm-ups tonight.

The 30 year old has played a total of 101 NHL games, scoring nine goals and 17 points total.

Brodzinski currently leads the Wolf Pack this season in both goals with six, and points with eleven, and has recorded a point in all seven games this season.

The second and third recalls happened simultaneously. Goaltender Louis Domingue and defenseman Connor Mackey.

Louis Domingue will be the backup to Jonathan Quick tonight after Igor Shesterkin has been ruled day-to-day.

Quick was already scheduled to make the start against Minnesota. Domingue, is 3-1-0 in four appearances with the Wolf Pack this season.

He has a .934 save percentage and a 1.75 goals-against average to go with one shutout.

As for Connor Mackey, he will most likely being contending with defenseman reserve, Zac Jones, for the sixth spot. Mackey, has scored one goal, and two points total in seven games with the Wolf Pack this season.

The 31 year old, leads the club in plus/minus with a plus 8 rating.

This will be an important month for the Rangers and Laviolette.

As they will need to rally together, to overcome these injuries in the hopes of keeping their lead for the division crown.
