The New York Rangers have officially placed this player on the trade market
The New York Rangers had an outstanding regular season in 2023-24, but unfortunately fell short in the postseason, losing to the Florida Panthers in the ECF.
After the disappointing end to their season the Rangers GM Chris Drury has been hinting at the possibility of making changes to their roster.
Here is what he said:
"I do believe in our players individually... A lot of players had great seasons. A number of them have been very good Rangers for a long time. Now it's the part of the job to figure out whether this group collectively can get us to where we want to be."
With that being said, one forward Barclay Goodrow emerges as a potential cost-cutting trade candidate, the 31-year old forward carries a $3.64 million cap until the 2026-27 season. That's a hefty price to pay for a bottom-six forward.
However, It's important to note that he does have a 15-team no-trade list and while that list isn't public knowledge. Assuming Goodrow was willing to work with the Rangers on a trade, it would potentially benefit both parties.
