The New York Rangers force the Boston Bruins head coach Joe Sacco to make some drastic line changes mid-game after the Rangers take a 2-0 lead as the first period comes to an end.

As the second period began there was some noticeable changes made by the Bruins head coach as he completely shifted and changed his lines as the New York Rangers dominated the first period and took a 2-0 lead.

Something the New York Rangers haven't done in while, as this is their first 2-0 lead in the first period since October 27th.

The Rangers lead 2-0. It's their first 2-0 lead since Dec. 11, when they won 3-2 against Buffalo. It's their first 2-0 lead in the first period since Oct. 27, when they won 7-2 against Montreal. And just like tonight, Mika Zibanejad scored the first goal in those games too.

Here's what the Boston Bruins lineups looked like at the start of the game, compared to the changes Joe Sacco made as the second period started:

And then now the new lines:

New lines:

Marchand-Lindholm-Pastrnak
Zacha-Coyle-Geekie
Brazeau-Frederic-Wahlstrom
Beecher-Kastelic-Koepke

This move seems to be working for the Bruins as they have managed to cut the deficit in half and are now trailing by one as the second period comes to an end.

However, it's safe to say that Jonathan Quick is saving the Rangers tonight as he has been incredible throughout the two periods and had made some unbelievable saves.

Hopefully the Rangers can continue the momentum as they head into the third period and break their losing streak.
