Transaction: Barclay Goodrow has officially been claimed off waivers
Former New York Rangers forward has officially been claimed off waivers.
Barclay Goodrow, who was placed on waivers yesterday by the New York Rangers has officially been claimed and will be heading back to the San Jose Sharks, where he started his career.
This information confirms a report from Mollie Walker of the New York Post, that explained the Rangers and Sharks had an under-the-table agreement in place for Goodrow prior of him being placed on waivers.
"There is belief there is a pre-arranged deal for the Sharks to claim Goodrow, who spent the first six seasons of his NHL career in San Jose." - Mollie Walker
The Rangers can now clear some cap space as the team has been short on cash and Goodrow was signed for three more years at a cap hit of $3.64 million.
However, the veteran forward will be a great addition to the San Jose Sharks, where he can help guide the young talented prospects as they work on rebuilding their roster and becoming Stanley Cup contenders.
