Unexpected Rangers forward falls victim of Sean Avery's harsh criticism following recent performance
The last player to get called out by former New York Rangers veteran Sean Avery was center Mika Zibanejad.
'Ok, Mika. DJing in Ibiza all summer, here we go. Bear down. Bear down, Mika. The season's started, Mika!'
Now, he's found a small weakness in Jimmy Vesey's game, which I'm sure he already heard plenty from Peter Laviolette.
However, Avery has to dig in to remain relevant in a world that has since passed him by.
In general, the majority of NHL hockey players are good guys. They quietly go about their business while doing a lot for the community. Avery, on the other hand has done nothing but make others around him better, he has done nothing to help to general good of the community. - B/R December, 2008
Avery was never a real offensive threat and only played an ancillary role in the NHL for every team he played for.
Given that criticism of him maybe crude, keep in mind not every NHL enforcer is a one-dimensional hot-take machine.
Keep in mind how great Craig Berube is as an NHL coach, and Rick Tocchet has utilized their rosters to deliver great results.
If Avery is so concerned about the viability of the Rangers squad, maybe he should apply to work for Peter Laviolette?
Who really has anything good to say about Avery, not even Grapes had kind words about him.
As Don Cherry described Avery, "I've known this kid since he was about 16 years old-once a jerk, always a jerk." It's time for Avery to learn that karma really does suck.
Avery for all his troubles only played 580 games scoring 247 points( 90 G, 157 A) with a whopping 1533 PIMs.
A real gobstopper, telling you the whole story of what purpose Avery served on the ice. While it was never as a top-six forward, Vesey has re-defined his role in the NHL from a future superstar to a Swiss army knife forward, and pointing out every little mistake isn't how you correct behavior.
