Former New York Rangers forward Barclay Goodrow has officially made his return to Madison Square Garden on Thursday night.

The New York Rangers managed to pull off a 3-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks Thursday night as Barclay Goodrow returned to MSG for the first time since being waived by the Rangers.

The New York Rangers waived Barclay Goodrow during the offseason, which initiated a lot of drama and rumours regarding how Goodrow truly felt about the Rangers organization.

The 31-year old forward stated before the game that he was surprised about being waived and that there was no indication that he would not be returning to New York the following seasons.

Barclay Goodrow on how things ended with #NYR:

«It was just a surprise. I was never given any inclination or whatever that I wouldn't be back with the team and that happened. That was a while ago, I've tried to move past it. We're here and excited to be with San Jose.»

However, after the Rangers victory over the Sharks, Goodrow acted like there was no issues and downplayed the situation:

«I mean, I don't think it really matters. I think that's been done for a while,» Goodrow said after he was leaving Madison Square Garden.

According to recent reports and one from Larry Brooks of The New York Post, Goodrow was not pleased with how the whole situation unfolded with the Rangers, as The Sharks were one of the 15 teams on his no-trade clause.

With that being said, The San Jose Sharks immediately claimed Goodrow off waivers once the Rangers waived him during the offseason.
