The New Jersey Devils are doing everything they can to try to save their season.

As the team was expected to be a playoff and potential Stanley Cup contender, the team has fallen short and potentially out of playoff picture.
Aside some injuries on their defence corps one of the main issues with the team is their goaltending.
The Devils felt they had a solution with a potential trade with the Calgary Flames.
After preliminary discussions, both felt the deal was not possible, however, it sounds like the devils try it again and as always failed.
Picking up 34-year-old Jacob Markstrom certainly would have helped the Devils as he is in a great season this year even though his team is disappearing around him.
Most reports did not reflect on what was offered in the trades but it's clear the Devils turned the flames noses away and have decided to keep Markstrom.
Having played 37 games this year, Markstrom has a record of 20-15-2 with 2.56 goals against and .914 save percentage with two shutouts.
This failed trade is good news for the Rangers as they have been watching closely on what the Devils will do.
