Yesterday, news broke by hockey YouTuber Steve Dangle of SDPN that a new pro Hockey League will be formed in North America in the fall of 2024. The league name will be the MLH which will carry the name of Major League hockey.

The premise of this new league is to have a three-on-three hockey game for the entire contest. According to Dangle, each team will be comprised of 14 skaters which will include two goaltenders.

Beside the three-on-three play, another major difference between the pro leagues and this pro league is that it will hold a $30 million cap, yet which will give each player roughly $2.1 million each. For every win the team achieves, Dangle states that $100,000 bonus will be given to the team to be divvied up amongst all the members on the team.

There will be 16 teams in this league, and it will be spread across the entire continent which will include British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Quebec and Ontario.

Dangle goes on that there are many issues to continue to work out which include the cities they will be playing in, the arenas that they will be housed in an what size of arenas will be allowed as a standard for this league.

It certainly quite exciting to see that another league is set to start and it's quite likely that many former NHL players who feel that they can still play will join this league which will give it more credibility and depth.
