With the NHL playoffs in full swing, one series appears to be heading to a sweep. This is according to Spittin Chiclets Ryan Whitney and Paul Bissonnette who feel that the Carolina Hurricanes will sweep the New York Islanders.

His prediction is certainly plausible as there are several factors at play. Firstly, the Carolina Hurricanes are a well-balanced team across all three levels and even if they don't play well during certain games they have the extra gear to take them past a team like the Islanders.

Secondly, the Islanders have spent enormous amounts of energy playing at a high level over the past number of weeks just to secure their playoff spot for the Hurricanes have not and they have cruised through the past several weeks and appear rested and ready to go.

Finally, The Hurricanes have went out and acquired players like Jake Guentzel from the Pittsburgh Penguins who gives more offensive punch for a team that already has numerous scoring stars.

Of course, there's no guarantee that a sweep will happen and after the game Freddie Anderson had in Game 2 where he had a below 800 save percentage and was pulled, it certainly puts the Hurricanes on watch even though backup goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov has had a superb season.

The series now switches to Long Island where the Islanders are looking to regroup and get back into the series. With the Hurricanes are up 2-0 in the series, the next game will be held on Thursday April 25th. Game time will be 7:30 PM eastern,
