The Person behind Jeff Marek being fired from Sportsnet has officially been released
Earlier this summer Sportsnet parted ways with longtime NHL insider, Jeff Marek as he was reportedly leaking confidential draft information to another party.
There wasn't much information shared to public about this scandal, but it was just reported on Wednesday of who that other person was.
It's was reported that former Barrie Colts Director of Scouting, Mark Seidel was involved in the reasoning behind Jeff Marek was fired from Sportsnet, as he just posted saying he was recently fired from the OHL franchise.
Another report surfaced from The Athletic, stating that Seidel was involved in this scandal, and now his post just confirms this information:
After the first round of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft back in June, Marek disappeared from social media, as his podcast stopped updating and his daily radio show went silent, and then a few days later Marek confirmed he had been let go by Sportsnet.
Later a report from The Athletic revealed what actually happened at the Draft and why Marek lost his job, stating that he was accused by the NHL and the Nevada Gaming Control Board of leaking insider information regarding draft selections to outside parties, who then shared it on social media before it was officially announced.
