Top NHL prospect faced with difficult decision ahead of 2024 NHL Draft
Macklin Celebrini is projected to be the first overall pick of the 2024 NHL draft to the San Jose Sharks.
With the NHL draft coming up next month many analysts and sources believe the Boston University star, Macklin Celebrini will be the first to be drafted at the 2024 NHL draft.
Celebrini recently released a statement with the NHL on whether he will go pro next year or not, as there is a good possibility of him making return to Boston University next fall.
The 17-year-old left-handed shot still hasn't determined if he will return to BU or turn professional in 2024-25.
"I haven't made up my mind yet," he said. "That's a decision that I'm going to make a little bit later. I wish I could tell you I've made up my mind because that'd be a lot easier."
It's definitely tough to imagine that Celebrini will decide not to go pro next year, but ultimately it comes down to if he and the Sharks believe that is the best option.
