Artemi Panarin addresses Jacob Trouba's "Core's Last Crack" comments from training camp
New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba stuns fans and teammate at trading camp Thursday with unhinged comments regarding the Rangers core's «Last Crack» at winning the Stanley Cup.
The Rangers still have multiple key players still under contract after the 2024-25 season like Artemi Panarin, Adam Fox, Chris Kreider, Vincent Trocheck and Mika Zibanejad, so Trouba's comments came off a bit concerning.
Artemi Panarin was then later asked if he agrees with what Trouba said, he was a bit confused and wasn't to sure on how to answer that question:
«I have not thought about that before, so I'm not thinking.»
Trouba's words may be confusing but he's technically not wrong as this will be the last year where this specific core will be together, as the Rangers have some major cap decisions to make and unfortunately they won't be able to keep everyone.
New York Rangers General Manager Chris Drury will have some tough choices to make following this year, and ultimately dictate what the future holds for the organization.
