Coach Likes What He Is Seeing From This Young Defenseman
One of the key aspects that have the Rangers where they are today, first place in the Metropolitan Division, is their defense.
Primarily the play coming from their defensemen Adam Fox, Ryan Lindgren, Captain Jacob Trouba.
But head coach Peter Laviolette wanted to give a little love to K'Andre Miller on his production and confidence. Take a listen:
Jonny Lazarus, the reporter asking the question, also spoke to the 23-year-old on the one thing Peter Laviolette has done to help him excel:
"I don't think there's anything too specific. I think the confidence he's putting in me specifically has given me a longer leasha little more just go play rather than years past. That confidence is building."
Miller has been having a stellar year to start off. He is fifth on the team in points, and leads the team in takeaways and plus/minus.
Plus he has the sweet game winner against the Vancouver Canucks in overtime on Saturday, the second overtime winner of his young career.
We should look forward to seeing how the young man will progress as the season continues.
