Early impressions give Rangers upper hand after Game One
It's only one game in the series, but it appears the Rangers are poised and set to play against the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round. Early impressions of game one have shown that the Rangers have an upper hand as they used their ability to keep The Hurricanes out beyond the perimeter and not get close to the net.
The team was dialed into the game which was also helpful that the fan base in Madison Square gardens was also dialed in as they got the Rangers into the game early which was noticed by Rangers forward Vincent Trocheck. During a media scrum he made it a point to state that the building was rocking and that the fans were a huge help in securing the win.
Trocheck also has been fantastic in these playoffs as he holds a four-game goal streak which was last held by Mika Zibanejad in 2022.
The shots were even but the difference maker for the Rangers was their power play as they went two for two and the Hurricanes went zero for five. Like many other playoff series, it seems that special teams are what will dictate the outcome.
Game 2 will begin on Tuesday May 7th in game time will be at 7:00 PM eastern in Madison Square Gardens.
