Ex-Rangers legend offers simple solution for the Rangers to succeed
As the New York Rangers head into what could be their final game of the Stanley Cup playoffs, former Rangers legend Mark Messier has a solution to make sure they win tonight.
The Rangers face elimination for the first time in Game 6, tonight against the Florida Panthers. However, Messier believes the Rangers to focus on one simple' thing to force game 7.
«It gets really simple at this time of year,» Messier told the New York Post's Mark Cannizzaro on Friday, May 31. «You've got to believe you can win.»
Mind you, this advice comes from someone who has lifted to Stanley Cup over his head 30 years ago when the Rangers won in 1994.
As crazy as it is but it seems like history just might be repeating itself, as the Rangers found in the same position: trailing the conference finals 3-2 before going (or hoping to go, in 2024) the distance. The 1994 squad overcame that deficit against the New Jersey Devils, edging them in seven games before beating the Vancouver Canucks.
The New York Rangers and Florida Panthers will face off for game 6 at Amerant Bank tonight at 8:00PM.
