Kraken's Former First Rounder Scratched Tonight Due To Trade Related Issues
The Seattle Kraken are keeping center Alex Wennberg out of tonight's matchup against the Calgary Flames for "trade related reasons".
Kraken head coach Dave Hakstol confirmed the news with reporters on Monday after their morning skate.
Wennberg is in the final year of a three-year, $13.5 million contract and owns a 10-team no-trade list as part of his contract.
In 60 games with the Kraken this season, he registered nine goals and 16 assists for 25 points.
Alex Wennberg has generated interest from multiple clubs, including the Rangers, Boston Bruins, Carolina Hurricanes and Colorado Avalanche.
We will update as more information become available.
