With news of Igor Shesterkin's recent rejection of an 8-year, $11 Million deal, totaling $88 Million, his ability to reset the market has been neutered for now.

Another goalie who's within Shesterkin's production just signed a deal with the Dallas Stars.
That goalie is Jake Oettinger, who signed an 8-year, $66 Million deal with a $8.25 Million AAV.
Oettinger's contract cements the AAV a typical top-five goalie in the NHL could get with a team, as he is another player who signed for the same amount of cash, as Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark.
All three are some of the best goalies in the NHL but haven't won a Stanley Cup.
But they do have numerous playoff games underneath their belts.
4 years into his tenure with the Dallas Stars, he has a playoff record of 47 games played, 45 started, and a 23-22-0 record, with a career playoff GAA of 2.24, and a .913 save percentage.
Could this set the limit for Igor Shesterkin? It's arguable that it could, as Oettinger is comparable to Shesterkin, along with Swayman and Ullmark.
But will it change the offer on the table from the Rangers? Doubtful.
Oettinger is widely considered to be a top-five and maybe even top-three goalie in the entire NHL, so it's strange that he seemed to settle for his contract in a way and stay in the path of the typical goalie market.

Meanwhile, Igor Shesterkin just reportedly rejected an eight-year $88 million contract that would have earned him $11 million a year, making him the highest-paid goalie in NHL history.
The only thing that could change is that GM Chris Drury decides Shesterkin isn't worth it and pulls the offer.
But arguably, Shesterkin's true value has been set I'd say at $8.25-$8.5 Million despite the fact he doesn't like it.
Shesterkin has to decide if he will sacrifice an entire Rangers core, to give himself more than $11 Million a year.
