The New York Rangers have once again found themselves in a predicament, as Ryan Lindgren is out with an upper-body injury.

Tuesday night would see Scott Mayfield make a major hit on Chytil, and Lindgren would retaliate.
The fight is when the injury would occur. Of course, Lindgren the warrior has no qualms about standing up for a teammate, but this hurt the Rangers.
«I don't want to lose players,» Peter Laviolette said. «Nobody wants to lose players, it's never OK. He's an important piece to our team, our core, our leadership group. The way he plays the game on the ice, he's an important part. Those pieces are hard to replace.»

Lindgren is the black, to Adam Fox's white, a verifiable defensive-defenseman who gives Fox space to utilize his offensive talents, and of course, stand up for players like Chytil.
It appears the 26-year-old will be out for a few weeks, and there's no telling whether he'll be ready to go for the regular season.
There's really no telling if he'll be ready for the October 9th date against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Head Coach Laviolette knows the value Lindgren brings to the ice, and is well aware of what a bind the team is in.
«It's always tough losing players,» Laviolette said. «A guy like Lindy is tough. He plays the game really hard for us, really valuable piece.»
It appears, that the Rangers could rely upon call-ups to fill in on the first pair, or bottom pair in the meantime, which Lindgren is out.

Suitable replacements for Lindgren could be rookie Victor Mancini, Ben Harpur, or Connor Mackey.

According to Laviolette Mancini has stuck out against the Boston Bruins:

«He looked really strong against Boston,» Laviolette said. «He was one of those guys that was really noticeable in those rookie games, and he's been really noticeable in the scrimmages and practices that we've had with him as well.

The team will need a defenseman who can play a heavy game like, Lindgren and give Fox enough breathing room to work his magic on the ice.
