Rangers Defenseman Forced To Undergo Major Change Following Injury
Vince Z. Mercogliano checked in with Erik Gustafsson during practice earlier today, who is the latest Rangers player to get hit in the face with a puck this season in the 3-1 win over the Tampa Bat Lightning last night.
He lost a tooth, has some bad swelling and a very sore jaw, but said he thankfully avoided any serious damage.
Sounds like he'll have to wear the shield for a few games.
Gustafsson joins a list of Rangers players who have sported a face shield this season, with Barclay Goodrow and Jimmy Vesey the most recent players.
Apparently Gustafsson has gotten hit in the face at least twice last night.
He is one tough player!
