The New York Rangers have received troubling news as their superstar goaltender has been placed on Injured Reserved due to suffering an upper-body injury.

It was just confirmed and announced by several sources that Rangers starting goaltender Igor Shesterkin has been placed on Injured Reserved due to an upper-body injury.

It still remains unclear how Igor Shesterkin sustained this injury, but it likely from when the Rangers faced off against the Florida Panthers on Monday night, as there was several cases of players crashing into the net and taking him out.

Purely off of speculation it would seem like this was the incident when the injury occurred:

At the moment the severity of Igor Shesterkin's injury remains unclear, along with how long he will be sidelined for.

However, this is certainly a big blow for the Rangers organization as they desperately need everyone at 100% as their struggles continue to progress throughout the season.

Igor Shesterkin now sits with a record of 11-15-1 throughout the 27 games he has stared for the Rangers this season. Along with a 3.10 GAA and a .906 save percentage.
