As the NHL trade deadline approaches, many teams evaluate their talent and their position in the NHL and ask themselves what can they add to make themselves better.

Many teams look to defence others look to a top six forward or a bottom 6 to help with their shutdown role but this usually means a busy March trade deadline.

During the Forever Blueshirts podcast Steven Pappas sat down with Larry Brooks, the New York Post reporter who has covered the Rangers for many years gave his take on what the Rangers need in order to make them more successful down the stretch and into a long playoff run.

Any team in the NHL who is on the top of their division, they are in a position to buy. I feel that Mister brooks is right and that the Rangers could use some more toughness and players who can go into those areas to help improve their positions.

Filip Chytil is on the mend and with Bonino on waivers, a new 3C would be beneficial.

Several players are out there including the Montreal Canadiens centre Sean Monahan.

He is having a solid year this year and could be a target for Chris Drury to help shore up the third line centre position.

You can never have enough depth and it remains to be seen on what the Rangers will do in the coming weeks.
