It's been a whirlwind week for Rangers forward Matt Rempe who was called up by the Rangers after Blake Wheeler went down to a leg injury.
During this time, he had settled into working out with the Rangers players and waiting for his chance to make his debut with the team.
That debut was enormous as he is the first NHL rookie to ever make his debut during a stadium game.
Standing at six foot 7 and 241 lbs while playing with an edge and some snarl has given general manager Chris Drury a reason to bring him to the team.
With the Rangers winning the game in overtime at MetLife Stadium 6-5 against the Islanders, Rempe was asked on his victory lap as a rookie and how he felt.
With such a great start to his career at the Rangers in front of 80,000 people, it's widely expected for Rempe to stay in the lineup until a decision is made once Wheeler has returned.
