Social Media Upset On The Practice Lineups For Rangers
The Rangers held practice earlier today, with Brennan Othmann attending the morning skate.
He is expected to make his NHL debut tonight. Kaapo Kakko was also on the ice in a red no contact jersey, so his return is on the horizon soon.
The lineups have changed with the injury of Tyler Pitlick and the insertion of Othmann.
Many fans were surprised with the lineups and were expecting something else entirely.
Kreider-Zibanejad-Wheeler
Panarin-Trocheck-Lafreniere
Cuylle-Goodrow-Vesey
Othmann-Bonino-Brodzinski
The first two lines are no different, so we won't waste time on that. What is being discussed is the bottom two lines. Some where anticipating this:
Cuylle-Brodzinski-Othmann
Vesey-Bonino-Goodrow
USA Today Sports writer for the Rangers, Vince Z. Mercogliano, mentioned not to get bogged down in the order he tweets the lines, when he responded to a fan mentioned placing Othmann in the fourth line is a waste.
One fan is a bit delusional in thinking Othmann should have been brought immediately to the first line.
Vince clearly shut down how ridiculous that sounded.
For those who thought Othmann was coming up to go directly into the 1RW spot on the top line after playing LW all season for Hartford, well... I won't say you're insane, but you were living in a fantasy world.
I trust in Peter Laviolette, knowing he will make the best decision for the team to succeed and win.
