The New York Rangers have made a roster cut, after the September 26th game against the Boston Bruins during training camp.

The cut consisted of the team sending several players to Hartford, to be reassigned to the AHL, as training camp begins on September 29th.
Of those who were sent to the AHL were: Alex Belzile, Talyn Boyko, Ben Harpur, and Jake Leschyshyn after being placed on waivers.
Jake Leschyshyn, played 1 game for the Rangers last season, scoring zero points, and would instead max out his time in the AHL, scoring 19 points( 8 G, 11 A) in 47 games.
Talyn Boyko, 21, was also reassigned to the Hartford Wolfpack and played all of 2023-2024 in the ECHL with the Cincinnati Cyclones. Boyko played 26 games, and had a 13-9-1 record with the Cyclones, with a 3.42 GAA, and a .888 save percentage.
The native of Drumheller, AB, made his AHL debut in Game 1 of the 2024 Atlantic Division Finals for the Wolf Pack, playing 8:59 in relief against the Hershey Bears.

Before turning pro, Boyko appeared in 142 WHL games, posting a 56-67-9 record with a .899 save percentage, 3.55 goals against average, and six shutouts with the Kelowna Rockets and Tri-City Americans.

Boyko was selected in the fourth round, 112th overall, by the Rangers in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

Ben Harpur, played 42 games for the Rangers in 2022-2023 scoring 6 points( 1 G, 5 A), and missed the majority of 2023-2024 with a torn pectoral muscle. He'd only played seven games in the AHL with the Hartford Wolfpack. He's previously played a bottom-pairing role with the Rangers after signing with the team in 2022.
Alex Belzile was also sent down to the AHL despite the game-winning goal against the Boston Bruins on Sunday, with a 3-2 victory.
Belzile led the Wolfpack in scoring with 50 points last season(19 G, 31 A) in 61 games, and would score 3 points( 1 G, 2 A) in 10 playoff games.
the 33-year-old has spent the last few seasons jumping between the Laval Rocket, and the Montreal Canadiens before signing with the Rangers on July 1st, 2023 as a free-agent.
Belzile is a testament to the power of never giving up - he was in his ninth season in the minor leagues before making his NHL debut with the Canadiens in 2020-21. All of his NHL scoring totals (14 points; six goals, eight assists) came in 2022-23, when he played 31 of his 44 NHL games.
