We were on the verge of seeing a goalie fight break up between Ottawa Senators goalie Linus Ullmark challenged St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington on Tuesday night after a big brawl broke between the two teams, but Blues goalie Jordan Binnington chickened out.
This would have marked the first goalie fight of the season and the first one in the NHL in a very long time.
The Ottawa Senators completely destroyed the St.Louis Blues, as they took a massive 8-1 victory. However, at the time of the scrum it was 7-1 when Binnington decided to enter a big scrum that broke out near his crease, getting into the face of Senators captain Brady Tkachuk.
Binnington must've came to his senses and realized that Brady Tkachuk would demolish him in a fight, and skated to his bench. This altercation clearly caught the eye of Linus Ullmark, who than challenged him to a goalie fight at centre ice, but unfortunately Binnington would decline the opportunity.
Take a look:
Jordan Binnington is known for being at the centre of controversy and starting problems throughout his career, as he previously swung his stick at Nazem Kadri's head.
