Scary scenes emerge from the AHL as Filip Engaras laid motionless after flying into the boards
Disturbing scenes emerge from the American Hockey League as Utica Comets forward Filip Engaras was stretchered off the ice after an incident with the Laval Rockets.
A very devastating scene emerged as Engaras was chasing the puck along side a player from the Laval Rockets and then awkwardly flew into the boards back first and intensely laid motionless after taking that tumble.
Huge respect for the Rocket's goalie for checking up him while he waited for the medical staff to get on the ice and asset Engaras.
The medical crew worked very quickly to make sure Engaras was stabilized and lifted him onto the stretcher. In a positive note, in the video below you can Engaras was moving his hands while on the stretcher, which is a very good sign. However, no further updates have been released at this time.
On behalf of everyone here NY Rangers Insider we send out prayers to Engaras in hope that he is ok and hasn't sustained any serious injuries and will be able to continue his career.
Never easy to see any player take an unfortunate injury like this, definitely hope he's ok.
