Team Canada wins gold in IIHF Women's world championship
After a thrilling overtime session, Team Canada has taken gold over Team USA in the 2024 IIHF women's world championship.
This win was extra special for Team Canada as they had lost to the United States last year in Brampton ON. The final score was 6-5 which was held in Utica NY. Danielle Serdachny scored the game winner at 5:16 in overtime on a Team Canada power play.
The Women World Championship was founded in 1990.
The rivalry between the United States and Canada has always been a thrilling one with both teams dominating the tournament every year.
The Canadian team has won thirteen titles in its history.
The next tournament will be held on April 9th 2025 through April 20th.
