Peter Laviolette Explains One Player Is Carrying The Weight Of The Team
The Rangers beat the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 and won their 10th straight game to match the franchise record for the longest win streak.
They also earn their NHL-leading 39th win of the season.
A big reason why?
The defense has stepped up big time, and the return to form of Igor Shesterkin.
For a third straight game, the Blueshirts allowed only one goal.
It marks a league-high 22nd time this season the team has allowed either one or zero goals in a game.
Shesterkin recorded his 4th straight 35+ save game to tie the Rangers longest winning streak in franchise history.
He now moves to 17-0-3 all-time when facing 40+ shots in a game.
Peter Laviolette talks about Shesterkin's strong play as of late:
"He seems really focused right now."
Ryan Lindgren also gives his take on Shesterkin's strong play as of late:
"Shesty's been outstanding lately. He's keeping us in games"
For those that have doubted the man, where are you at?
