Love you Brother
Bonta was a superstar player in the APHL. In just 12 games with the Mobsters this season he managed to record an insane 42 points before his passing.
Johnny Bonta's parents named him John Bonta and raised him alongside his brother, Jacob.
His life was tragically cut short at the age of 29 on January 23, 2025.
His brother left playing hockey and pursued a career as a proven marketing and sales expert.
While Johnny's brother, Jacob would take a different life path from hockey, Johnny Bonta continued to pursue his life long dream of playing professional hockey.
Johnny originally made a name for himself when he first began his career with the Blue Ridge Bobcats which is a team in the FPHL, and would go on to play in multiple different leagues like the Cincinnati Street Hockey League (CSHL) and the American Premiere Hockey League (APHL).
On behalf of the NY Rangers Insider we send our thoughts and prayers to the Bonta family, his friends, and teammates as they navigate through this difficult time.
May you Rest in Peace Johnny.
